How do I join a Voyage on Sailomate?

There are 4 ways to book a voyage on Sailomate:

  • You gather a group of friends and book a yacht or a catamaran just for your group (the most common way). The price of the yacht is fixed and you split it between all crew members on board.
  • Grab one other friend and book a double cabin. You will then be placed on a yacht with other cabin mates. This is a great, simple package which includes the price of a skipper, host and food! 
  • You can also book a solo spot. These can be found under the premium cabin option and will only show up if available. Don’t worry, this won’t mean that you’re going it alone, we will assign you to a bunk bed cabin with someone else who has also booked solo. Your cabin will be on a yacht with other cabin bookers so it’s the perfect way to meet new people.
  • Join our Facebook Community where people who have already booked a yacht list their available spots to find extra crew. Choose from one of other mate’s offers, or post your request to join existing crew.
Can I book a voyage just for a few hours or days?

Our events are all 7 days, typically from Saturday to Saturday. You are welcome to arrive later or leave earlier, however, you would have to cover the full week cost.

Where can I find a detailed itinerary for all available voyages?

If you press the “Explore” button on the Destinations estinations page, you will be able to see a typical voyage plan for this route, although this is an approximate schedule of your voyage. The actual trip and schedule will depend on many factors like weather or mood of the team.

Can I join Sailomate Voyage on the day?

It is not possible to just show up on the day as the yachting companies need to prepare all the crew list documents several weeks before departure.

Can Sailomate arrange a flight for me?

We don’t work with airline companies but in some cases we can arrange a group transfer, including a private bus transfers from Vienna and Berlin. For additional information please contact us at info (at) sailomate.com

Can I make changes in my crew ratio?

You should keep the ratio boys/girls you booked with. Later changes must be authorised by Sailomate Voyage Management Team (additional admin fee may be applicable). For more information contact us at info (at) sailomate.com.

Authorisation of the changes to your crew ratio will are subject to the current overall ratio for your voyage week. We do our best to ensure a 50/50 balance of boys and girls in the flotilla, in order to create the best possible experience for all the mates!

 
 
Can I book a yacht with only boys/girls?

Of course! There are no ratio restrictions when bookings first open.

Therefore if you book as soon as the bookings open, you will be able to book an all boys or all girls yacht. It is only when we see the overall event ratio swing too far one way that we make restrictions. This may happen after a few minutes or a few weeks, so book as early as possible.

 
 
Can we leave the yacht at a different location to where it departs from?

For all our routes you will always have to go back to the marina that you departed from.

If I will need to arrive late or leave early, will it be possible?

Yes, it is possible if you agree on this in advance with your Voyage Management Team. You may need to organise transport at your own expense to meet the yachts when you arrive or find your way back to the mainland when you need to leave.

What are Sailomate COVID-19 requirements for joining the voyage?
  • COVID requirements of Sailomate match whatever the government entry requirements are in the Destination countries
  • All attendees may be requested to present the proof of vaccination or a negative test mirroring the entry requirements at the Destination country.
What are the COVID-19 requirements at my Destination?

What happens if I (or one of my mates) are not able to attend Sailomate voyage due to COVID-19?
  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance which provides coverage for the cost of your trip in the event COVID-19. Please note that in case you or someone in your crew contracts COVID-19 before joining the yacht and/or are unable to participate in Sailomate voyage, you will not be entitled to a refund from Sailomate or associated legal entities.
  • Travel insurance covering COVID-19 available in most of our mates countries and are reasonably priced. Contact your Voyage Management team if you need recommendations for what is required in your policy.
What if I test positive during my Sailomate voyage?
  • In case the symptoms appear during the voyage, and you test positive, you will be required to isolate yourself from the rest of the mates and leave the vessel at the first possibility. This will mean the end of your Sailomate trip.
  • You will then need to follow the procedures that are in force at the Destination country.
Do I need to pass COVID-19 test at Sailomate check-in?
  • No, presently we are not performing any tests at check-in. Though you may be asked to prove your vaccination status and/or a negative COVID-19 test if this is required by local Destinations rules
  • We reserve the right to implement further additional COVID-19 measures at check-in if the rules in the Destination country change.
Do I need to be vaccinated to attend Sailomate voyage?
  • At Sailomate we do not require our mates to be vaccinated to join the voyage, though we strongly recommend all guests to be fully vaccinated with current booster vaccinations. In addition please note that if you are joining somebody’s crew, some of our Voyage leaders may ask everyone on their boat to be vaccinated as a part of their internal team rules.
  • If you decide to join a Sailomate voyage without being able to produce the proof of vaccination, you must be aware of possibility that Destination government requirements may change and you may be denied entry into bars, restaurants or other activities in accordance with local laws.
  • Unvaccinated mates are permitted to attend Sailomate voyages if they comply with the rules applicable in the Destination country.
  • Unvaccinated guests may require a negative COVID-19 test to enter certain venues in accordance with local laws.
  • Fraudulent tests or vaccination certificates will not be accepted. Guests who submit these will be prevented from attending the events and not offered a refund.
What happens if Sailomate voyage is canceledl due to COVID-19 restrictions?
  • If we are unable to run our Sailomate voyage, our Voyage Management Team will inform you as soon as possible. At this point you may be presented with the option to either rebook your trip for an alternative date or Destination (subject to availability), to get credit to use towards another trip in the future, or receive a full refund.
  • Changes to the planned itinerary may be necessary in order to comply with any local restrictions. All changes will be communicated to you in advance by your Voyage Management Team
